TAU’s First Carpet Show at Chevy Chase Library, Washington DC.

TAU is very fortunate to have been able to collaborate with carpet experts from Istanbul, Turkey in organizing an exhibit showcasing exquisite, detailed carpets from all across the Turkic World! Every carpet showcased in the exhibit was unraveled before participants to have its design, colors, material, and history explained in depth. Participants immersed themselves in the experience of being among carpets woven over 100 years ago, having traveled various countries and continents to be lovingly displayed at TAU’s first ever carpet show. The intent of this event was to:
- Preserve and highlight the rich, artistic and diverse traditions of the Turkic world
- Expose the high-level of integrity and arduous effort behind the artists’ craftsmanship
- Foster an open environment promoting learning, discussion, and fun
